How does it feel to be launching a collection with River Island?
It feels amazing – it’s something I’ve never done before which is always more exciting. I’ve always loved my clothes; I’m very proud to be launching a collection with a brand as big as River Island.

Fashionable, versatile & affordable
Which piece sums up the collection?
The tailored black & white dogtooth trousers, they elevate a casual outfit because they’re interesting, and they are a great fit too. They represent the entire collection - a strong statement piece, easy to dress up or down.
Who would you like to see wearing Olly Murs for River Island?
I’ll definitely be making sure I get some of my mates in the collection – I’d love to see Mark Wright, Niall Horan, Marvin Humes and Danny Jones in the clothes.
Which Olly Murs track would be the soundtrack of the collection?
Wrapped Up, as I want everyone buying my collection!! Haha….
Which look would you wear on stage?
I have designed two ‘rascal’ shirts as I like to call them. Bold, graphic and in on-trend winter colours. They would definitely be something I’d wear on stage as they are smart, and they stand out.

Who where your style icons growing up?
I always had my own style growing up and wore what I liked rather than what was necessarily in fashion! I’m sure there are several incriminating photographs to back that up too, but I’ve always loved James Dean’s style – classic, casual and classy.
What do you want for Christmas?
Can you sort out a gift wrapped girlfriend for me???
What’s your signature dance move?
It was always the ‘Olly shuffle’ after I did it unintentionally on my audition for X Factor in 2009!! I don’t really have a signature, but I’ve got some moves in my locker – don’t you worry about that!
If you could have anyone else’s voice, who’s would it be and why?
I’d have to say Sir Tom Jones. Being sat next to him on The Voice is pretty special when he just breaks out into song. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him warm his vocals up – it’s just absolutely natural and effortless.
You’ve nailed your first clothing range – what’s next for Olly?
I’d love to continue to collaborate with River Island on future collections, I’ve genuinely loved the whole process and experience so I’ve got the bug for it now!
